Finally. A company is marketing to REAL girls. Aerie is starting a campaign called “aerie real” which means that they are no longer going to retouch any of their models. That’s right, tattoos, moles, scars, fat rolls, curves, big butts, legs that touch, all of that will be present in their new ads. They’re also encouraging their associates to get more in touch with their customers and help them embrace their differences instead of being ashamed of them. This is a real campaign for real girls. One of the slogans is “real girls don’t have wings” which is referencing the seemingly perfect “angels” of Victoria’s Secret. I’m so proud to work for this company.
